Chapter Twelve
Once again, watching from home, Bert, the 12-foot demon reacted poorly to the mention of more advertisements. This time, he demonstrated his might by crumpling the television into a small ball and using it as a weapon against Arnie.
Helpless, the petite man could only raise his arms in defence, but they were no match for the demon's power. Close to being beaten to death, Arnie managed to just about get out the words, "I'm going to find a new place to live."
His attacker let out a deep exhale to calm himself before stating, "Yeah, that's fair enough. Sorry, mate."
Those who had not destroyed their televisions were subjected to an ad for a mundane new vacuum cleaner, featuring a voiceover declaring, "This machine doesn't just clean up dust. It can also get revenge on your enemies."
Following this claim was a scene showing an unsuspecting individual opening their door, only to receive a blow to the face from the vacuum cleaner's nozzle.
"What the fuck?" he cried in pain.
The voiceover went on, "Running low on funds? No problem! It can carry out a bank heist for you." This promise was accompanied by footage of a gun attached to the nozzle, as frightened bank employees and customers lay on the ground with their hands raised.
The voiceover concluded, "Heck, it does so much that I wouldn't be surprised if it wrote a script for a hit movie... in fact, it did!"
Right on cue, viewers were treated to a preview of a film featuring a street criminal in a panic, sprinting through an alley and casting fearful glances behind him. The crook stumbled and soon after, the silhouette of a vigilante vacuum cleaner loomed large.
"If you knew who I worked for, you wouldn't dare confront me," the desperate criminal exclaimed whilst brandishing a firearm.
The scene widened to reveal a vacuum cleaner effortlessly vacuuming up the weapon from the man's grasp.
In a mechanical tone, the appliance taunted, "I'm well aware of who your employer is. He's the next target on my list."
Despite his dread, the man retorted, "You... you suck!"
"You're goddamn right, I do," the vacuum replied, as it aimed its hose at the criminal, engaging its suction with such intensity that the man's flesh was stripped away from the bone and into the device.
Amidst the horrific screams, the vacuum declared its mission, "It's time to clean up these streets."
The voiceover concluded the preview with, "Dust Busters... hitting theatres this September. A movie so disturbing, you'll get judged by the ticket seller for buying one."
Meanwhile, back in the studio, Bones gazed out at the audience, his panic rising. With Cuddles absent to provide entertainment, the crowd was becoming restless and agitated. Quarrels were erupting, and feral beasts were savagely gnawing away at each other. To fight the boredom, one particularly large demon even went so far as to reenact the chest-bursting scene from "Alien" by thrusting its claws through the stomach of the human seated in front of it, before whimsically creating a face with his hand.
